Hello Everyone!
Can you believe it, we are on the last week of October. Time flies!
Speaking about flying, Robotics, Comp Sci, and STEAM ELD will be preparing for our field trip on Friday. We'll be working on our glider so find as much usable trash as possible. We'll also be preparing to talk to the exhibitors at the event. They are there to talk to you so have your questions prepared and practiced.
Science - We'll continue discovering the connections between what we humans do and the environment. Don't forget to start saving stuff from home to help design and construct your final project: an environmentally friendly home. What's that? Think about it and look at your notes.

The Roadmap - Build a NWR Chart - What do you notice, wonder, and reminds me of? What makes a home "environmentally friendly?"
What creates carbon dioxide?
Add more information to the Chapter Bridge
Reading - What is Causing the Sea Ice to Melt - Weather vs Climate -

- Discussion
- Video
Venn Diagram - Draw 2 interconnected circles like: Label on Climate and one Weather
Reading Graphs Like a Scientist! The TAILS Mnemonic (Graph Construction & Reading)
- T – Title: Write a clear, descriptive title showing the relationship between your variables (e.g., "Effect of Temperature on Enzyme Activity"). [1, 2]
- A – Axes: Place the independent variable (what you change/control) on the x-axis (horizontal), and the dependent variable (what you measure/observe) on the y-axis (vertical). [1, 2]
- I – Intervals: Make sure the numbers along your axes go up by equal, even spacing (e.g., counting by 2s, 5s, or 10s).
- L – Labels: Clearly label both axes with the name of the variable and its unit of measurement (such as Time (s) or Distance (m)).
- S – Scale: Use most of the graph paper or grid space so your data spreads out nicely instead of getting squished into one corner.
