Robotics Choice Board Challenges

  • 4 different competitions you need to get ready for
  • You'll need to practice for all 4
  • Test your robot in the designated area only


Monday - Morning Routine

  • All Robotic Challenges groups are to continue building & testing.
  • Keep posting in your portfolio regularly at the beginning, middle, and conclusion of each project
  • Let me know when you finish a stage of your project so I can check it off.
  • Keep an eye on the time and keep your work & tools organized
  • Do a FOD walk daily

Drone group - Flight #1 -  Here is your first flight code.
  • Take off
  • Climb 40 cm
  • rotate 90 degrees Left
  • rotate 90 degrees Right
  • climb 40 cm
  • descend 40 cm
  • roll Left 20 cm
  • roll Right 20 cm
  • land
Also, create a parallel safety code to land the drone in case of a problem
  • When "space" is pushed
    • land
    • Use a "forever" control block
Connecting your drone to your computer for automated flight.
  1. restart your computer
  2. bring up the wifi set up page
  3. turn on your drone
  4. connect to your drone
  5. open your software
  6. prepare to fly by
    1. place your drone in an approved flight area with no humans
    2. announce loudly "Drone Flying Now, stay clear!"
  7. fly your drone, test your stop switch
  8. be prepared in case your drone loses control
  9. repeat as needed

Robotic Challenges - All groups need to catch up on their portfolio posts.  Make sure to keep updating your progress in your individual builds.  Include the good and the bad, what worked and didn't work.  Include changes you made to overcome any problems.


Drone Group can not fly today.  Build Drone Code #2 today and walk through what the code will make the drone do.  Make sure to charge batteries.

Battle Bots - Do not go into the storeroom today.  You can finish painting tomorrow.

Writing your recipe book
  • gather your recipe ideas (Padlet)
  • choose 1 food from your list
  • start using either paper or a google doc to start.  Use these steps to help...
    • title - name of the food you are making
    • Ingredients - list all the foods, spices, liquids you will need to make your food
    • Instructions - list the steps in order to make your dish.
      • Include any special preparation and cooking instructions
      • Finish with a comment about how to serve the dish
Extras 
  • include a picture of the finished dish.  Family pictures are great.
  • write a brief introduction to your dish - maybe a story of why you like it.  

You can always bring a sample of your food into class so we can taste!
