RV Computer Science, Robotics, ELD Week 9/11 - 15/2023

  Hello Everyone!

It has been a great first month at school.  Congratulations to all of you for bringing your positive learning brain to school every day.  

We'll be busy this week getting into our structured routines, leanrning new content, and expressing your individual learning and thinking in differnt ways with different projects.

Monday - Morning Routine


Sleep Project - Due Wednesday - Presentations starting Thursday
  1. Get into your groups and look up the research article that you will be using
  2. Use your journal to record notes that you want to share with your group
  3. Use the Cornell Notes format
  4. Take 15 minutes to quietly read your section of the article & take notes
  5. Think about the most important parts you want to share with your group
  6. Share with your group - You can use your notes, go back to the article, or extend your research
  7. Listen to all members and discuss the most important parts of the article you read.
  8. Prepare your group slide show to include the best information that your group needs to share.
  9. Practice your presentation

Today, you will continue to work on your sleep project.  Your goals for today are:
1. Know what is important and helpful from the research you read
2. Start building a slideshow to share this information with the rest of the class

Directions
  • Meet with your group & take your journals with you
  • Talk (quietly level 1) about the most important & helpful parts of the article
  • Open a new Slideshow
  • You will need about 5 slides
    • Title slide
    • One slide for each of you to share information(about 3 slides)
    • One Resource slide where you will cite the article you researched
  • Use images that support your statements
  • Try not to have more than 3 lines of text on a slide.  
  • We'll continue tomorrow
  • If you know Google Slides and can help, please do
  • Please control your talking and movement around the class

Question - Pretend that there is no such thing as television or cell phones. What do you do with all your time?

Today, you will continue to work on your sleep project.  Your goals for today are:
1. Start building a slideshow to share this information with the rest of the class
2. Practice your presentation
