Happy 2026. The second half of the year has started. This month will be busy as we get back into out routines. There will be several breaks during the next 2 months so make sure to keep up with your work and get any help you need immediately. Do let it wait.
As we start the new year, I want to remind you to be thoughtful of others as we all navigate this year. There are a lot of people on our campus that are here for you. If you need to talk or share something, talk to me or another trusted adult, we can help.

- Navigate a UAV through an obstacle course (syma x5c)
- Create a planetary exploration rover - Build and code a rover that can carry scientific equipment (camera) to explore a new terrain
- Battle Bot competition/demonstration
- Microbit Monster - add some more servos/sensors to control different movements

You will be looking at some resources to help you plan today. On this slideshow, there is a form that each member of your team will have a section to fill out. You will all write on the same form, so make sure to cut and paste it to the form you shared with me today.
Share the form with each other. You'll then watch a very informative but long video about Mars Rover Navigation. Try to get through the first 30 minutes. It's slow but very informative.
Tomorrow, we'll start learning the drones.
