My name is Augustine Garcia and I am thrilled to be the Technology Teacher at Rio Vista Middle School! I am starting this blog site to connect to students, parents, teachers, administrators, and anyone else who has an interest in what we are doing with Vista Tech.

Trimester 2
Wow, after an amazing first trimester where all students learned many applications (more on that in a minute), were set to venture off into Trimester 2!
Trimester classes will learn:
- Presentations in Libre Office Impress, and Google Presentations
- Typing Skills with TypingPal
- Portfolios and task organization with Google Drive
- Research with Google Search
- Customizing Google Mail
- Word processing in Google Docs
- Geography with Google Earth
- Graphic image creation with Google Drawing
- Schedules and invitations with Google Calendar
- Sharing documents with Google Drive
- Building YouTube Channel and uploading videos
- Coding with Code.org and Scratch!
- Continue to use all above listed applications
- Period 1 with venture into starting Rio Vista Mouse Squad
- On-site or in-classroom repair and update of student/classroom technology
- Movie making
- Sound recording
- Teacher and Student Tutorial
- Website creation/updating
- Problem Solving with Tinkercad/3D Printing
- Coding in Scratch
- Surveys with Google Forms
- Spreadsheets with Google Spreadsheets
- Photo editing
- Period 2
- Coding with Scratch

All the applications being used have the intended goal of being applied to core curricular classes. Thus giving students the tools they need to research, explore, evaluate, and demonstrate their knowledge. We are just beginning to learn how far we can go and there are not limits in sight!
