RV Computer Science, Robotics, ELD 9/18 - 22/2023

  Hello Everyone!

Hi all, I'm so sorry that I am out again today.  I'm not sure when I will be back.  I'll let you know as soon as I know.  

Monday - Homeroom students can now take their computers with them.  Please take care of them and keep them safe.

I'll be out on Friday.  Do your work, be respectful to each other & to your guest teacher, and be responsible for your actions.  

You know the routine, you will all continue working on your current projects.  Do your best work every day.  I look forward to seeing you on Monday.

Question - What does Peace mean to you, for your family, for your friends, for the world?  Be descriptive.

Getting ready to use IXL -
  1. check your mail for a link.  Make sure you did not delete it.  If you did, look in the trash
  2. Sign in to IXL using the email link
  3. Watch this video to learn about IXL
  4. Now, it's time to get into the learning.  Look around the dashboard.  I assigned some work for you to do in the Recommendations tab.  Check it out - you have some Reading, some capitalization corrections, and some sentence work.  
  5. Once you are done with the Recommended work, you can explore some of the other things you can do.

  1. check your mail for a link.  Make sure you did not delete it.  If you did, look in the trash

It has been a great first month at school.  Congratulations to all of you for bringing your positive learning brain to school every day.  

We'll be busy this week getting into our structured routines, leanrning new content, and expressing your individual learning and thinking in differnt ways with different projects.

  1. Get into your groups and look up the research article that you will be using
  2. Use your journal to record notes that you want to share with your group
  3. Use the Cornell Notes format
  4. Take 15 minutes to quietly read your section of the article & take notes
  5. Think about the most important parts you want to share with your group
  6. Share with your group - You can use your notes, go back to the article, or extend your research
  7. Listen to all members and discuss the most important parts of the article you read.
  8. Prepare your group slide show to include the best information that your group needs to share.
  9. Practice your presentation
