  Hello Everyone!

We have arrived to the last week of the 2022/2023 School Year!

Congratulations!  

Below is a brief schedule of the big events happening this week.  

Most of all, however, is what you make of this week.  Spending time with friends & enjoying the routines you have made this year is better than making a poor choice and not being here.  

Please think before you act and make a choice that you can live with instead of one you will regret.  Remember, words do hurt.

Please follow the directions below and keep working on your projects.

Any problems will be dealt with immediately and without discussion.  So please, keep focused on your work & not disturb others in the class.

Continue working on the Community Service Project for the rest of the week
with our guest teacher.

  • Some students are complaining they can no longer move the keyboards/mouse enough to put them on top of the towers.  Please leave more slack.
  • Maybe make a keyboard/mouse hanger for the side of the tower?

  • I like the taped-down version for the reason that students cannot take them off to play with them.  I already had one student trying to do this.
  • Tape them all down on the monitor on the side closest to the computer headphone jack.

Continue with the Obstacle course

  • Successfully navigate through 2 courses
  • Videotape & send the recording to agarcia@rioschools.org so I can upload it to YouTube
  • Break down your robot and Inventory your box - organize it so everything fits -Nothing outside
    • take out all the small pieces from the top compartment.  Leave ONLY the big pieces.
    • Organize ALL the smaller pieces into the drawers
  • Complete your digital portfolio
After all this is done:
You have a couple of choices to choose from: 
1. Learn to drive and fly Parrot drones
  • You can team up (3 per team) to learn how to drive the rolling drones
  • We'll be learning how to race these drones in both indoor and outdoor courses.
  • Practice only in the first row until all students are with their robotics project
2. Build in Scratch or CoderZ
  • You can work on coding the next video game or robotics challenge in either Scratch or CoderZ
