In two weeks, we'll be starting our state testing, the Smarter Balanced Assessments. We'll be switching to a block schedule. More info to come.
Periods 2, 3, & 5, you will have the homework over the next couple of weeks.
Assignment - Finish & show your digital portfolio to your parents & family.
- Provide proof of them seeing your portfolio by taking a picture of them looking at your portfolio.
- Post this image and write a reflection explaining what they thought about your work and about what you had to do to help them understand your work.
Period 2 - Computer Science
Monday - Morning Routine
- Finish your 3D design
- In Tinkercad, check with Mr. G for verification of completion
- Export & upload to Astroprint and slice with appropriate settings
- Wait your turn to print
- If your design fails to meet the requirements or solve the problem, modify your design & check with Garcia before reprinting.
- Make a new post in your portfolio titled: 3D Modeling & Manufacturing
- include an image of your design from Tinkercad & one image of the finished product
- Include in the reflection:
- What is this,
- how did you make it,
- how much did this cost to make,
- did it meet the requirements and solve the problem,
- and how do you feel about it?
- When done, you can:
- Assist another designer
- build another 3D model

Friday - Morning Routine
- Create or download your design
- Review your design
- size
- overhang
- workplane adhesion (will you need support)
- export your design as a .stl file to a slicer program. We'll use AstroPrint - make an account. Create an account with your Google student info.
- import your design into your slicer program
- verify your printer, print settings, print material, and the amount of material needed to print your project.
- download your design to an sd card or connect your printer to the printer.
- print your project. Keep an eye on your project
In your project reflection, estimate the cost of your print using these variables:
PLA material cost - $.03 per gram
Electricity Cost/minute - about $.01 per hour
Labor costs - $50 per hour

- Prepare and update data on your portfolio
- Update photos, reflections, pages, & the feel of your Portfolio - What should be in my Portfolio?
- Update the look
Period 3 - Robotics
- CodeZ Team - Continue moving through the training session. When done, move on to the Preliminary Practice
- Lego Spike Robotics - Project Repeat 5 Times: continue working on this project for the next couple of days.
