Robotics - Had a Great Time at the STEAM Expo. Congrats go out to David, Daniel, Michael, Nathan, Jesus, Donavan, Damian, and Elijah. They represented the RV with class and ability.
Congratulations to Elijah, Damien, and Noah. These gamers took the Top Honors at the 2nd Annual 3V3 Rocket League Tournament. They topped 4 other Rio schools for the Championship. Well Done!

Formalize your Expedition Project -
- Create a fictitious story representing your project. It can be:
- Search and Rescue -
- Recovery -
- Exploration/Data Collection -
- Write up the story and upload it to your portfolio under "Special Assignments" - "Expedition Project."
- In the story, make sure to detail how the aerial assets and ground assets coordinate information about the search. Make sure to highlight each group's responsibilities, including the Project Manager.
- Record and upload a video of the project in action from start to finish.
- Due February 2

Start by reading Slide 1 - from this slideshow as a class.
- Slide 2 Read the Prompt - Make it clear to each other at your table what type of information you are looking for - How is noise threatening whale communication, and what are some solutions?
- Read over your note-taking document - Look at the 3 different sections and make notes
Define the Problem - More ocean noise is affecting the whale's ability to communicate.
Outcomes - Whales are having problems communicating.
Solutions - What are some possible solutions?
3. Slide 3 - You will be listening to a podcast and taking notes. Think about the prompt. When you hear something that might help, write it down in the correct section.
4. Slide 4 - Take 5 minutes and write down any information you can use. You can play the podcast again to hear it for more information.
5. Slide 5 - Hear and discuss the different sounds you hear. Review the Thermal Camera video from the Boston Harbor. The light blues are whales, while the bright yellows are ships. What do you notice?
