Computer Science Week 12/13 - 17/2021

Happy Holidays all,

This week is about finishing up our projects and setting ourselves up for a great Winter Break.

Period 2, 4, 5
Keyboarding is cut down to 20 minutes this week.  You'll have 7 minutes each day to complete this goal.

Your goals are:

1. Complete your keyboarding goal for this week.  20 min.
2. Finish your December Project:

a. Ornament - Create an ornament to decorate your tree.  The ornament must have a connection to your family, a connector for an ornament hook, and be a unique design.  Size may vary but is determined by its application.

b. Container with cover(lid) - Create a container that can hold something inside.  It must have a cover or lid.  The size will be determined by the contents of the container.

Create a blog post explaining and reflecting on your design journey.  Include an explanation of the project, a description of how you created the design, and a reflection about how it came out.  Also include 2 pictures, one screenshot from Tinkercad & one of the finished print.

Check with Mr. G along the development path.  I can verify whether the design is ready to print.  After printing, finish smoothing the design and you have the option to paint it for added effect.

When you are done,

Computer Science Week 12/6 - 12/10

 Good day everyone,

As the temperature starts to cool, we, in the Tech Lab, are heating up as we work on finishing our projects.  Each class has an assignment that you can find below.  Have a great week and enjoy looking up at our beautiful evening skies!

Periods 2, 4, & 5 - 3D Design - Continue working on either your ornament or your container with a lid or covering.  You will have all week to work on it but the pressure is on to get a working prototype printed before we leave on break.

In addition to printing, we now have paints that you can use to customize your object.  See me ASAP to get your design printed.

December Project - Do one of the following project and include the blog post for the one you created.

1. Ornament - Create an ornament to decorate your tree.  The ornament must have a connection to your family, a connector for an ornament hook, and be a unique design.  Size may vary but is determined by its application.

2. Container with cover(lid) - Create a container that can hold something inside.  It must have a cover or lid.  The size will be determined by the contents of the container.

NOISE Level

  • Noise level is between a 2 & 3 but should NEVER get so loud we disturb other classes

  • Walking around is for help only, no social maneuvering around the classroom:

  • Lost movement privileges, stay in your seat - ALL STUDENTS

Consequences for repeated (2) disruptions:

  1. Students may be moved away from others & continue working if the behavior improves

  2. Students may be moved to a 6th-grade class or to the office with a blue behavior referral - students will lose promotion points and will not be available to help their teams.

  3. Just do your work:)

Guest teacher - Students may be collaborating which is encouraged.  Or, they may be just visiting so you will need to move around the classroom and listen into conversations.  THIS IS CRUCIAL FOR GOOD CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT!!!!!

Done with your Project - Students can do these activities when completed with a project and done posting on their blog.  Early finishers can go on  DIY ACTIVITIES

Blogger

Modify your blogs themes, colors, and layout
